The series of unfortunate events.
It all started on a Friday afternoon. Dan pulled in the driveway after work and complained that his little runaround car was making a terrible sound. So he started to pull it apart to determine what was wrong with it. He found the problem and ordered the part that would be delivered in 4 days. So we were down to 2 cars. which is fine, since there are only 2 drivers in our family.
Then Saturday morning we drove to the river so we could do our usual long run. Although this time it was only going to be 7 miles because dan had plans to Mt. Bike with Jon right after our run. Well mile 7 hits and we start our cooldown, only to discover Dan has a hole in his shorts pocket and the key to the van is gone. The ONLY key we have to the van. So we retrace our steps for about 20 minutes without luck and finally decide that we just need to run back home. which was 5 miles away. So 12 miles later, we get home and I drive Dan to Rigby so he can meet up with his brother for Mt. Biking. Down to one car, I drive back to where we parked the van and start retracing all 7 miles. Post on the Rexburg page that we lost our key and to let me know if you have found it. I literally ran the entire time dan was Mt. Biking, trying to find that dang key. When Dan gets done, he called a locksmith to come and meet us at the van to cut us a new key. So we drive over there and he hops out to meet the locksmith at the EXACT moment I get a notification that someone found our key. I yell out the window for him to stop, but it was done. $200 we could have avoided had we waiting one more minute. Oh, and when he cut us the new key, it deactivated the current key we had haha, so still down to one key. But at least we had our van back
A few days later, the last week of school when life is already crazy hectic and busy, we get a text from our landlord telling us that they are selling the house and that we have to be out by the end of July. Well isn't that so fun. 3 summers in a row ruined because of moving. We didn't have the heart to tell our kids during their last week of school, so instead I started planting little seeds like; our contract is up soon, isn't it weird that we are moving soon, where should we move for our next adventure. Then when school was out, we really started talking about it more, and now they all know that a new adventure is inevitable. Dan and I are so stressed about it, but trying to play it cool for the kiddos. It seems to be working--except when we went and toured a house for rent, Stori sat in the front room and just sobbed and sobbed. She loves our neighborhood and loves our ward so much. Well, we all do.
So time will tell where we end up.
