random days in the sun

We pretty much spend all of our time outside. Which is odd because all of us are so pale and pasty. But we have sf 700 and find all the shady spots.

This is one of our favorite parks. The shady Lane park. It's built like a tree house and is surrounded by trees. So it's always shaded. Dan loves it too ha.

Dan was throwing all the kids in the air, so the girls convinced him to try and throw me in the air. Stori tried to take a picture, but this was the result. Who knows if I ever got any air or not, but it was fun and we laughed for a loooong time.

^^learning to use the spoon with her yogurt. She got a little distracted.

We hit up our first splash pad of the year last saturday in Riverdale. Stori had a birthday party there so we all decided to join. They had so much fun. This park had 3 playgrounds and a splash pad, with a ton of grassy area. Dan and I just hung out on the benches and watched them all play.

^^ Sylvie's arm around Stori is just the SWEETEST!
and some very random pictures haha... This was a family movie moment this sunday. I watched Mary Poppins in peace, but I can't say the same for Dan. The smile on his face tells me he didn't mind too much.
hhahahahahaha Dan made some eggs after our 8 mile run on saturday and this is what happened completely on it's own. So scandalous.
The girls got some hair cuts. They have been begging for short hair for so long, but I was only brave enough to cut off about 7-8 inches. I don't have the after pictures yet. But this is Stori up there, and Sylvie is the one with the hair past her booty.

My sleeping beauty again.

just some good ol' days.

The kids love to take our bar stools outside to set up as their own personal table. They know that when they do this, the neighborhood kids will flock to our house and they can play until dark. It's genius really. and adorable. (we now have a kids picnic table in our backyard that surprisingly holds the same magic with the neighborhood kids).

Sometimes they will stay at our house for hours, or sometimes we head to the park and play there. This week I was joking around that there were alligators under the monkey bars, and Sylvie hopped on those monkey bars (for the first time in her life) and did them! All by herself!! I was so shocked. So I guess I have 2 official monkeys in the house. And both of them learned the bars at age 4. it's so fun.
Stori escaped the alligators by hanging her whole body through the bars.

our next door neighbors don't have any kids yet, but they were watching their 3 nieces the other day, so we did a bbq and softball night with them. The kids were really excited about the s'mores, but neither of them even finished one bite before claiming they didn't like it. haha. Which makes sense, because Dan and I only kind of enjoy them. We like making them, but not eating them.

We love Lee's! It's this local store and has such a small town feeling about it. It's one of our favorites in Logan too. Well to celebrate their anniversary, they had a huge sale, tons of samples, giant bubble blowing worker, and this bouncy slide. We ended up staying for 2 hours after getting our saturday morning donuts. Dan and i just sat in the shade while the girls played.

Lee's also sits right next to this cute little pond where we go and feed the ducks. It also has a natural spring, so we fill up our water bottles there with delicious clean water.

always a sleeping picture of her folded in half.

quick sunday trip to clarkston for a BBQ. it's so great we only live an hour from there, and that the drive is so pretty.

walking practice every night!

one day she will walk on her own haha.

The way she is looking up at her daddy. so cute

Schools out for Summer!!!

I am so excited that SCHOOL IS FINALLY OUT! Stori's last day was May 25th, and she has been sad about it since May 25th. She was not ready to say goodbye to her teacher and friends. Especially because one of her friends is moving away this summer. Bummer. But I'm glad I get her home with me. She is such a big helper, and such a little sweetie.  She rides her bike while I push the bike trailer for our runs every morning, and doesn't even get tired. (4 days a week we run 4, one day a week we do a long run like 8 or more, and once a week we just do a short 3 miles. She seriously is so great!)

I mean look how CUTE SHE IS!! Love her and her cute little tooshy!

the whole gang. Sylvie, Georgia, and I always walk out and wave to dan and stori as they are leaving every morning. It lasts for about 2 minutes as they buckle and drive away, and still waving as driving away ha.
Stori Oaklee and Gaby
Amari and Stori wearing my little pony shirts.
now that she's home, we don't get to go on our extremely entertaining walks to get her from school... in our very appropriate outfits...

^^impressed with her ability to hold the umbrella without any hands!

We were about the last ones to leave the school. She was so sad and sat down under this tree watching the last few kids leave. I have a cute little video of the wholes school staff waving at the school bus's as they were honking and driving away. then they formed a circle and started doing little tricks--like backflips and the worm etc. I don't think I saw any teachers crying haha.
oh and Georgia's new favorite word is CAT! ;)

And this little cutie is a preschool dropout once we left her preschool in idaho. but she did preschool with miss Melanie after we moved to harrisville, and wanted a picture of her "standing on this brick wall while I lean this way." haha. So we will call this her last day of preschool picture. Messy shirt and all. But we will still do preschool this summer with her... Stori requested we do it so she could host "Stori Time" with her. Get it. Story/Stori time. haha.
