Northern Lights

Okay. This was insanely cool. We first went out to the Butte to watch them with Josh and Amanda, but turns out we went too early, and could only see them through the camera. Well when we got back to our house around 11:56, Josh called telling us that they were going crazy. We had already started to notice them dancing, so we drove up to the dry farms to really see them away from the city lights. HOLY SMOKES!! we didn't even need a camera to see them, it was crazy! Without sounding too dramatic, it was life changing haha. Similar feeling to the total eclipse we saw in 2017. We kept the kids up until 1:30 because we couldn't stop staring at them.

lagoon and volleyball

My last volleyball tournament of the year was the first weekend in May, and in Mapleton, Utah. So I left with the team, and other coach, early Friday morning so they could play that afternoon. They ended up winning all the games on Friday so we entered the tournament as first in our bracket. Out of 220 teams we entered the main tourney as number 11, and after the games on Saturday, we landed in 3rd place!! so proud of these girls!
Dan decided that he didn't want to stay home on Saturday (this shocks no one), and would take the 2 older girls to Lagoon so they could go on all the big rides together. He left Georgia at home to play with Evelyn and hang out with granny Radford. They said the lines were record breaking long, but had so much fun hanging out with our Michagander BFF's and Jon. Turns out you don't mind long lines if you have fun people to talk to with perfect weather. He's such a good dad, and glad they all had fun. They ended the night at In-N-Out, and I ended the night at Maverick waiting for them to pick me up in North Ogden. haha. I rode with one of the parents from Mapleton to NO, but got there before they were done eating, so I sat there eating my candy poster haha.
Georgia had so much fun at the Pirate Ship park, watching movies, shopping at TJMAXX and having Pizza with Granny and Evie. Fun weekend for everyone. I think dan was a little tired from the exhausting weekend (he got up at 5:30 to do a long run before they left for lagoon at 7, and we didn't get home until midnight), and he actually took a 4.5 hour nap on Sunday. that NEVER happens.
Sad vball is over, but excited for school to be out soon.

Georgia's "sick day"

Last week Georgia woke up "not feeling very well." She ate breakfast, giggled with her sisters, and was reading books. But by the time it came to leave for school, she started to get a little sick. Haha. I knew it wasn't serious, but also didn't mind the idea of spending the day with just her. But I still needed to get my run in, so I had to push her in the bike trailer, because she was too sick to run or ride her bike by me. :)
But once we got to the horse and the river, something clicked and she began running around and throwing rocks and sticks. she was so happy just being outside and being with me. That's when I decided I would just walk her to school an hour later. And she was fine with that. Just needed a little one on one mommy time. It was just what we both needed.

"Night night walks"

We started Night-Night-Walks when Stori was a teeny little thing and haven't stopped the tradition. Everyone gets their jammies on, brushes their teeth, and get all the way ready for bed. Then we head out on a walk to get fresh air and get out any extra energy before bed. We all love them. Sometimes the walk is just around the block if it's cold outside, and sometimes it's a 2 mile walk and a stop at a park. Sometimes it's on bikes, roller blades, long boards, or scooters. Sometimes it doesn't happen at all. But everytime we do one, the nighttime routine works much better. Right when we get home, we read a few books, and off to bed. It's almost like magic.

The last few nights have been so beautiful for our walks, Can't wait until we don't need any jackets for these!

Sunday Shenanigans

After church, we made "7-laweeyer dip" for Cinco de Mayo, built with magnet blocks, did our daily manners reading, tidied up the house, read lots of books, oh and did sister makeovers haha. Oh man did the kids do a great job doing the makeup. At the last minute we decided to add unibrows and it was exactly what we were missing. haha.

After we wiped the beauty off, the girls decided to make cookies. They do better than I do and always clean up after, so I always allow it. They are pretty tasty--even to me and I don't like cookies.

Love these cute girls, Sundays, and their cute dad. (He's a bit sleepy because he had the kids all weekend
while I was gone, and took the kids to Lagoon by himself. didn't get home until about midnight last night).

Wilder baby blessing

In February we decided to get a hotel in SLC and go to baby Wilder's baby blessing. oh man he is such a little sweetie!! We hung out with the Price family all day Sunday-they came with us to the hotel after the blessing. The the next day we decided to do a lot of our Utah favorites... schools, mountains, food, etc.
Our kids are at such good ages for a hotel stay! (we haven't stayed in a hotel with them since Georgia was a teeny tiny baby).  Let me tell you.. it was a BLAST!! we stayed up late eating popcorn and watching movies, and then when we got tired, we all fell asleep.
It was the most fun little family sleepover!

Island Park getaway

In February, we spent the weekend at a cabin in Island Park for Alexis bday and it was such a fun little getaway. I have never been snowmobiling on my own sled before, and it was quite terrifying to be honest. Mainly because they didn't belong to us, and there really wasn't that much snow on the ground to keep them cool. But we did a 2 1/2 hour sunset ride with Josh, Amanda, and their friend Austin (the snowmobiles belonged to him, and so did the cabin :) ).

Staying up late playing games and talking, hot tubbing, and eating. It was a great little weekend!
