Ok. I'm going to be completely honest here.
We REALLY UNDERESTIMATED how FREAKINGGGG cool the total eclipse would be. Dan was even considering leaving the state for the weekend because he didn't want to deal with all the people.
Not only did we stay, but all we had to do was stand right outside our front door! It was fun watching the eclipse happen while watching through the glasses...but then totality happened and WOW! probably the coolest experience of my lifetime. The sky went black and there was an orange glow around the horizon. We are already making plans to attend the one in TX! even if you had 99% totality, it is nothing compared to that feeling of 100%. Taking off those glasses...unreal! ok, I'm done being dramatic. But seriously. it was cool.
My sister Meg, her family, and some of their Montana friends came. took them 14 hour to get home from their 7 hour drive.
My cousins, aunt, uncle and their friends came from Wyoming. took 8 hours to get home from their 1.5 hr drive.
My friend and her family came from Provo. took them 12 hours to get home from their 4 hr drive. (8 hours just to get to pocatello)
and they all said it was still worth it!
