first week in harrisville

our first week in harrisville was 2 months ago, but I just realized that this blog post was in my draft file. I wanted to get a picture of us in front of our house before I posted it, but we never got around to that. I still have hopes it will happen though.
the day we moved in was 56* and sunny. We thought that moving in the middle of January would be so awful with snow and frigid temps, but that wasn't the case this winter. in fact, we got to play at the park and go on bike rides when i needed a break from organizing and cleaning.

^^behind Stori, and in front of the beautiful mountains, is our cute tiny little townhouse....the one with the van in front.

we live in the semi-country...its a small town outside of a big town. Which we all love. We enjoy being minutes from shopping...and In-n-Out! ;)

Our little home is 3 bedrooms, 1.5 bath. plus a garage!! which is a huge benefit...especially if winter actually comes next year.

I need to update these pictures for sure! Dan and I made some shelves that go on the wall where all the those empty boxes are.

And i need to update this room too. now we have a cute little mid-century couch and orange chair. WE also have a bigger rug, moved the ottoman and rocking chair upstairs, and put away the pac n play that I had up for georgia to play in while i cleaned. :)

Here's a picture of our front door, with the CUTEST first grader! she is such a brave, beautiful, smart little thing. Seriously so smart!

She's made some good friends here and loves her teacher. She said the hardest part of first grade is multiplying teen numbers! (I still can't do that without a calculator, and she is only 6)! she makes sure to ask for help in her prayers each night. in her reading tests each week, she is at least 3x's above the class average. I hope the math portion doesn't discourage her.

When we only have one car, we get to take daddy to work...then hit up target!

The dad of all dads! he was born to be the dad to little girls!

We've had to do quick little day trips to idaho several times, but this time was particularly fun! 14 miles from home, our serpentine belt snapped. So we pulled off in Brigham City and spent the next 4 hours waiting for them to fix our car. We saw many blessings though; we were originally going to leave at 1am after picking up my niece at the train station, but waited until first thing in the morning, dan had just sold his gun and it covered the cost of the repair, and beautiful Brigham City cost so much less to fix than anywhere else. So glad it happened when and where it did. Especially since it could have happened to me while driving dan to work on the interstate. I would have been alone with 3 girls, stranded on the busy road!
walking around the tabernacle with 2 of my girls, trying to make the hours go by faster

All in all, we love this beautiful new place we live in! I will make sure to take updated pictures.
