California pt1

We got to San Clemente Saturday around 6, so we had plenty of time to head down to the coast. Kristen just lives one block from the ocean, so it was perfect to just unload our bags and then stretch our legs. WE love it there so much!
Sunday morning before church we decided to walk back down to the pier and let the kids swing for a bit. If you look closely, you will realize why I had to hold Stori upside down while running to make it to the potty. She juuuust barely made it haha.

The day we were in San Clemente, a giant whale washed up on shore.  I got this picture from Kristens husband, Rick. I also have a picture of its' intestines, but don't particularly want to document them. ;)

On Monday we decided to go visit San Diego for the first time. It was such a gorgeous place! Our very first stop was the Temple. Even more beautiful in real life! (which explains why I have 70 pictures of it haha).

It was nice to have some grass to play around on for a while

I love taking photos of dan taking photos. :) you could say it's one of my hobbies

Old Town San Diego! A MUST SEE!!!!! We loved it. Love love loved it! You are so close to Mexico and everything there is so authentic. Kristen said it's all the good things about Mexico without actually having to go there and see all the not-so-good things. :)
^^this awkward picture to document the mariachi band that performs to tables around the restaurant. Also a pic of the three red heads.
^^ and the three brunette. :)

The Mormon Battalion is also a must see! Dan got to be the volunteer to dress up like one of the soldiers.
Panning for gold after the interactive tour.

After we left old town, we headed over to the coast where they have all their aircraft carriers, and the ship from the movie Master in Commander. Dan turned into a little boy and got giddy over all the ships. I got a picture of him with the Midway because we just barely missed the tour and he spent so long looking at the outside. :) he's cute.

So glad Kristen was nice enough to play tour guide all day for us in San Diego. We had such a blast exploring someplace new.
