Table Mountain hike

Neither of us had ever hiked this mountain before, but had been wanting to our entire marriage. It's 14 miles of absolutely beautiful trails. It was so fun to be there with my favorite hiking buddy. We also talked Megan and Joel into hiking it with us. We counted it as our long run for the week--best decision ever.
my legs look so wonky here for some reason!!

I took this picture of Dan to show hoe bad all the debris was. There had been some pretty bad avalanches that took down trees and covered the path. It was a little hard to find our way for about 1/2 mile.
And I LOVE this picture of mega and joel so much! That weird little mountain peak in the distance, is our destination. That is Table Rock!!! this is even 4 miles into the hike and it's still that far away... I started to panic just a bit, but the whole hike was so beautiful so it didn't feel as long as it was.

The mountain range is great, but dan is greater!

THE MOST INCREDIBLE VIEW WE HAD EVER SEEN!

The wild flowers were so gorgeous!
We all ate our lunches at the top and just sat to take in all the views
My phone didn't capture how beautiful all these peaks were. or how many of them there were. 360* of mountain peaks!!!
There was a lot more snow than we were planning on. It would have been wise to have some snow climbing gear because it was so slick and steep. Megan was genuinely concerned that she was going to be falling to her death. But seriously, one slip on that snow and you would roll down a huge canyon, off a pretty steep cliff. We found a better way to get across the snow on the way down, but unforutaly, right after that, Megan tore her Achilles tendon. We still had about 4.5 miles left do go, and she couldn't walk. We sat and tried to rub it out a little so she could walk, but it didn't help much. She limped the whole rest of the way. I felt so bad for her. We still made great time with the injury.
My mom snapped this picture of us from "find my friends." I love it!

Getting so close to the summit! (it looks close, but the worst part is ahead. Steep 2 miles of awful loose rocks leading to the top).
Dan and I were talking about this hike after, and we both came to the same conclusion. The whole hike really is AMAZING. it is so beautiful with all the valleys and mountains. But the BEST part was that you have to climb up to this super wonky shaped mountain. You are literally scrambling up steep loose rock to get to the top. The elevation starts kicking in and you can't see any of the grand. Then you finally reach the summit and your reward is breathtaking. The views are hard to describe--obviously the amazing grand teton, but so many mountain ranges for as far as you can see. It was really something I wish everyone could do. We will for sure be doing this again next year. (In fact, dan is taking his YM hiking there in 2 weeks). Table rock... you rock!
11,100 ft elevation.
