kids hikes in June

June is our favorite month to hike in. We were doing 3 hikes a week most weeks. The weather is just perfect in the mountains in late spring/early summer. So much green and so many flowers!!! I definitely plan on going back to UT for some June hiking while we wait for some spots in the Tetons to green and flower up.

Art VanOrd trail is my absolute favorite trail to run on, or take the kids on. (or both, because they love running down with us). It's a trail system that has a 3 mile loop, 10 mile loop, or an up and back from 1-17 miles. but the whole thing is just ridiculously beautiful.

This one is the probably called waterfall hike. Literally it doesn't have a name, but when we were exploring one day we came across a little tiny wooden sign that just said "waterfall" haha. So we set foot and found it. Both times we've done this one, we've been the only ones on the trail. Never even seen any cars parked anywhere close. To get down to the waterfall, you need to use this old rope and slightly repel down. the kids love that part. but this one is good to do in the spring because of the waterfall, but also great to do in the summer because the whole trail is in the shade of these giant trees.

Wheeler creek hooks up to the other side of Art VanOrd, but this is a closer trail head. About 10 minutes from our old place.

the drive there. CAN YOU SEE THE BEAUTY?!
